Iran marks Gen. Soleimani assassination anniversary

Iran has marked the martyrdom anniversary of General Qasem Soleimani in Kerman.

Thousands of Iranians have gone to Kerman, the martyred general’s birth place and the place his body is buried.

General Soleimani, who was the commander of the Quds Force of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), was assassinated along with Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, the second-in-command of Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Units (PMU), as well as eight others during a US drone strike at Baghdad’s international airport on January 3, 2020.
